マルチオルガン・オン・チップとは、複数の異なる臓器モデル（例：肝臓・腎臓・腸・肺など）を1つのマイクロ流体デバイス内に接続・共存させたin vitroプラットフォームを指す。これにより、全身的な生体反応を模倣することが可能になる。

その拡張概念である ボディ・オン・チップは、ヒト全身の代謝・分布・毒性・相互作用をシステム全体として再現することを目指す技術である。

A multi-organ-on-a-chip refers to an in vitro platform in which multiple different organ models (e.g., liver, kidney, intestine, lung, etc.) are connected and coexist within a single microfluidic device. This makes it possible to mimic systemic biological responses.

Body-on-a-chip, an extension of this concept, is a technology that aims to reproduce the metabolism, distribution, toxicity, and interactions of the entire human body as a unified system.
